Applied Intelligence Consulting Group works with operations-heavy Canadian businesses, often on workflows that touch customers, staff, and sensitive records. Responsible use is not a compliance afterthought here — it is how the work is scoped from day one. The principles below are anchored to the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA).
1. Human review where it matters
AI drafts, classifies, and summarizes — people stay accountable for decisions that affect customers, money, safety, or employment. Every pilot defines explicit review points and a clear path for a person to override or escalate.
2. Privacy reviewed before sensitive data is used
Before any workflow touches personal or confidential information, we review what data is actually needed, where it goes, how long it is kept, and which vendors process it — consistent with PIPEDA principles of consent, limiting use, and safeguarding. When a pilot can prove value on non-sensitive data first, it does.
3. Acceptable-use boundaries agreed up front
We agree in writing what the AI is and is not allowed to do, what it must never automate without a human, and how staff should use it day to day. Clear boundaries are what make adoption safe rather than risky.
4. Documented, reversible tooling — no lock-in
AICG is model-agnostic. Tool and model choices are documented with their trade-offs, kept replaceable, and chosen so you are never trapped with a single vendor. If a better, cheaper, or safer option appears, you can move.
5. Measured against real outcomes
Success is defined before the build — in time, cost, quality, or risk reduction — and measured honestly afterward. A pilot that does not pay back is allowed to be stopped. We do not ship AI for its own sake.
6. You own what we build
The workflows, prompts, SOPs, and documentation created during an engagement are yours to keep, run, and modify. Knowledge is transferred to your team, not hoarded as a dependency.
